Reston, Va., [May 25, 2010] Applied Knowledge Group (AKG) was acknowledged as a Gold Sponsor for the 3rd Annual DC Metro “We’ve Got Your Back” run/walk held in Reston, Virginia on Saturday, May 22nd. Team AKG included fourteen registrants, which earned them 3rd place in total participation of sponsor companies.
Lindsay O’Bannon led AKG’s runners with the best time, edging out Danny Gilbreath, Todd Van Haaren and Rachel Desch. Runners and walkers enjoyed the festivities, which included exhibits, children’s activities and performances throughout the morning. “Our employees enjoy playing a large part in this event each year. I was proud of the effort they put forth to support such a worthy cause,” said Mike Howland, Chief Executive Officer of AKG’s parent company, Tioga Holdings.
The “We’ve Got Your Back” event helps raise awareness for spinal health as well as raise funds that will be devoted to furthering research and education on spinal health issues each year. This year the event expanded to include races in the San Francisco Bay area and Philadelphia. The Philadelphia event will be held June 6th.
