Reston, Va., [January 1, 2010] Applied Knowledge Group, Inc. (AKG) is pleased to announce C.J. “Heater” Heatley III assumed the role of President and CEO effective January 1, 2010. Heatley brings to AKG his solid work experience successfully building professional services organizations and working with key senior executives across the U.S. Government and private industry. Heatley’s extensive professional experience includes many distinguished leadership positions, with service as the Director of Advanced Analytics BAE Systems and Detica, LLC., Chief Operating Officer at the Institute of Physical Sciences, Senior Vice-President at Defense Group, Inc., Commander of Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) in Dahlgren, Virginia, and with service as a U.S. Navy F14 Squadron Commander and Top Gun Flight Instructor.

I am particularly enthused that this role at AKG allows me to work with extremely talented professionals and to apply my previous experience in helping a wide range of customers.” Heatley holds a M.S. in Management from Salve Regina University (Newport, Rhode Island), a M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College (Newport, Rhode Island), and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri (Columbia, Missouri).
