Team AKG is committed to quality management and quality service on the Seaport-e contract and each task order. We will adhere to our Quality Management Process (QMP), which provides a solid, continuous structure for the overall management approach discussed in this section. We will deliver quality products, built right the first time, and provide cost-effective, efficient services to meet our clients' expectations.
Team AKG's QMP is based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle at the heart of Six Sigma:
- Our first step (PLAN) is to understand the Virtual SYSCOM client's expectations by meeting with the assigned personnel at the start of each task to document all task requirements.
- Execution (DO) of the task requirements is undertaken to meet the objectives of the task order and client expectations.
- A quality executive from Team AKG will meet with the client team quarterly to assess (CHECK) Team AKG's progress against the established quality metric.
- By recording client feedback about scheduled objectives and procedures, Team AKG learns of any client-driven amendments needed for supporting successful change management. The designated quality executive makes recommendations for adjustments (ACT) to the execution plan, if necessary.
The Team AKG Seaport-e Program Manager (PM) will conduct monthly face-to-face or virtual meetings with the Seaport-e Project Officer, whom he or she will first consult regarding the agenda, to cover all active task orders. The team AKG PM will facilitate the meeting using the latest in meeting collaboration tools whenever possible, to address risk assessment and mitigation, and problem identification, control, and resolution. The PM will record minutes and publish them after the meeting. Task Order Leads will meet at least weekly with their respective Virtual SYSCOM counterparts to review project status, problems, address risks, and plan next steps.
Although our approach to quality management is proactive, Team AKG recognizes that unexpected situations can arise. Our staff will apply a systematic investigation process to determine the problem's root causes, develop and implement the remedial effort necessary, and provide process improvements for long-term solutions. The Seaport-e Program Manager will continually evaluate performance with regard to technical approach, timeliness, and continuous process improvements. The individual functional experts will participate in analyzing new requirements, recommending deficiency corrections, and discussing new capabilities to satisfy emerging requirements.
